Question: Caffiene removal, then loss of hunger?

Recently, I have been weining myself off of soda. My parents brought me up on it, so I have a addiction to it. I finally broke through the nausea and headaches and now I only have one soda a day. I have noticed I am not nearly as hungry as often as I used to be. Is this because I removed soda from my diet? It's actually too the point to where my parents think I'm starving myself (honestly, I'm just not hungry as I used to be) I have moved in green tea and sprite as my replacements for soda. So is it the removal of caffiene that has made me less hungry? (also, worst case scenario, is my metabolism slowing down?)

Answer: your body is probably adjusting to change in caffeine. as long as it doesn't go on too long i wouldn't worry about it too much. yes your metabolism slows down when you reduce the amount of caffeine your getting. try make sure your eating enough even if you aren't hungry. eat something good for you. fresh fruit, vegetables. i'd try to replace the sprite with a fruit drink. "Naked" makes really healthy fruit drinks. their really sweet because of all the natural sugars and loaded with vitamins. the blue and red drinks are the best.

* 1 C papaya juice
* 1 banana
* 1/2 C green tea/ strongly brewed
* 1 scoop soy protein powder w/spirulina
* 1/2 C blueberries (can be frozen)
* 1/4 C carrot juice
* 1/4C apricot juice
* 1/2 C non fat plain yogurt
* 1 pack sweet and low
* 6 large strawberries

Blend all of the above together till smooth. Serve over ice.

Recipe yields 2 servings.

Drink every 3 hours or less (up to 6 times per day)
