Green Tea Diet Questions Answers

Question: Soda and weight loss question?

If I stop drinking soda now, how much can I lose this week or this month? Answer to both would be nice. I drink diet and diet caffiene free coke...so it's not that bad I don't think, would I lose any more weight, if I quit cold turkey.....drinking only water, diet cranberry juice, and Diet Lipton Green Tea. Thanks.

Answer: There are two possible answers to your questions.

1.) You can lose "water" weight if you simply cut down on the amount of water you ingest. The amount of weight you'll lose will depend on how much water you end up losing via sweating/urinating/breathing.

2.) If you stop drinking diet soda and switched to water, diet juice and tea, then you WON'T lose any weight at all (assuming the diet soda had zero calories and the diet juice/tea also have zero calories). Changing drinks doesn't matter because there's no calories being given up. You can only lose weight if you reduce the number of calories you ingest.
BUT if the soda you drink does have calories and you stop drinking it, then it depends on how much soda you drink in the first place. Rougly speaking, 3500 calories is 1 pound. So if you stop drinking one can of soda (which has about 120-140 calories in it), you'll need to stop drinking about 30 of them to lose a pound. So ask yourself, "How many cans of soda do I drink in a week/month?" Multiply it by the amount of calories in each can. Then divide this number by 3500. The number you get will be how many pounds you'll lose during that period of time.

Hope this helps.
